Candidacy for the ÖH election


In order to be able to stand in the ÖH election, a number of requirements must be met. You can also find more information on the election process in the Student Union Election Regulations (HSWO). Study representation

In order to stand as a candidate for your study representation, you must complete a form and submit it to the election commission at your university.

§ 28 HSWO 2014
The deadline for submitting candidacies for student representatives (= candidacies) begins 7 weeks before the first election day and ends 4 weeks before the last election day.

! Attention! The submission period therefore begins on 25 March and ends on 17 April.

§ 28 para 3 Announcement for each candidate:

  • Surname and first name
  • Year of birth
  • Address
  • Name of the degree programme
  • Personal identifier specific to the educational institution
  • E-mail address
  • Confirmation of admission for the respective degree programme in the elective semester

Candidates for the respective study representation must be passively authorised to vote (ÖH fee paid and 18 years of age). Otherwise the candidature is not valid.

 

Withdrawal of candidature

A candidacy can be withdrawn up to four weeks before the last election day (17 April). This must be done in writing to the election commission.

 

University representation

Candidacies for the university representation require a certain number (depending on the number of students) of declarations of support. These must be collected and submitted to the relevant election commission together with an election proposal by 8 April.

 

Federal Representation

Candidacies for the federal representation require 200 declarations of support from at least 7 universities, whereby at least 10 declarations of support per university must be collected. These must be collected and submitted to the Federal Election Commission together with an election proposal by 8 April 2025.
